Whale
Watching Hermanus!
Hermanus is the hub of the Cape Whale Route where
there is unmatched whale viewing between July
and November. Watch these fascinating creatures
cavort a mere 50 meters from the beach, or take
a boat-trip to marvel at the size of the world's
largest mammals and look into their scrutinizing
eyes from sea level. We stay at a beautiful Hermanus
Auberge with flair and outstanding cuisine. You
can even whale watch in Hermanus from your window.
Between
late August and October you can see the miracle
of the blooming desert in Namaqualand.
People come from all over the world to the Cape
for the Cape Flowers. Billions
of daisies transform this normally desolate landscape
into a carpet of colour. Whilst there, we will
enjoy the rustic Hotel at Lamberts
Bay where the Crayfish
factory not only makes a little smoke, but also
provides the ingredients for our delectable evening
meal. From Clan William in the South to Port Nolloth
near the Namibian Border nature displays its multi-coloured
dream coat every year. Be sure not to miss this
amazing Cape Flower display.
